White Rose Surgery rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
White Rose Surgery are proud to announce today we have received notification that we have been rated as OUTSTANDING following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
This is a wonderful achievement and one we are very proud of. This is testament to our hard working and caring team of staff.
The surgery would like to thank members of the Patient Participation Group for their support on the day and their ongoing support. We value your input into the services we offer our patients and the community.
GP Training Practice
GPs in Training
Our practice is approved to train fully qualified doctors who wish to specialise in general practice. Our GP registrar will have had 2-4 years of experience as a qualified hospital doctor working in various specialities. They consult patients on their own, under the mentorship of our trainer, Dr Gledhill. Occasionally we ask permission to video a consultation. You will always be asked in advance and are given the option not to take part, and this will not affect your care in any way. No recording will be taken without your consent and the camera will be switched off on request. These videos are used for educational purposes with the doctor doing the consultation and are destroyed after use.
Dr A Andero is currently the GP registrar at the practice.
Medical Students
Medical students are sometimes attached to the practice for 2 - 3 weeks as part of their training. If you do not wish a student to be present during your consultation, please inform the receptionist.
IMPORTANT- To all our Military Veteran Patients and their Families: 21.03.2022
As a practice we are actively seeking to identify our Military Veteran patients who have served in the UK Armed Forces and any family members of Military Veterans to ensure they receive any support they may need.
This includes all Military Veterans and Reservists. You only have to have served on day in the Armed Forces.
We are sending out Questionnaires via text message for Military Veterans or their immediate family members, so watch out for these. They are very simple to complete.
Our local group of practices will be working together in the future to help offer tailored support as well as signposting to other services for our Military Veterans and their families.
Thank you for your cooperation with this piece of work.

Changes to Prescription Products & Services
We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically. We would encourage all of our patients to have a nominated Pharmacy added to your medical records. This will ensure that the prescription is sent electronically to the correct Pharmacy for your to collect of your medication. If you do not have a nominated Pharmacy, you will be given a token instead of a prescription. The token can be taken to any Pharmacy, who will then scan this and be able to issue you with the correct medication.
Electronic prescriptions help save the NHS money.
Read more about EPS on the NHS website.

Evening and Weekend GP Appointments
GP practices across Wakefield are now offering weekend and evening appointments.
The new GP Care Wakefield scheme enables patients across the district to have access to GP support after normal opening hours.
This enables patients to have access to medical advice and, if required, access to a Wakefield GP appointment, through their normal GP practice telephone number between:
18:00 and 22:00hrs Monday to Friday
and from 09.00: to 15.00hrs Saturday and Bank Holidays
Patients who use the service will be provided with medical advice from a dedicated nursing team, who can then refer them to a GP appointment that day, if required, at one of two sites across the district.
