With patient safety being the forefront of this years campaign, we would ask that you take a minute to read the guidance below. We do not want to have to turn anyone away on the day for not adhering to the following and potentially putting others at risk:
• A face covering must be worn
• APPOINTMENTS ONLY no walk-ins – bookings are being taken now via reception between 10am – 6pm
• Attend alone for your appointment unless you require assistance
• Be on time - no earlier, no later
• Report to reception on your arrival. You will be given a slip to then hand to the Nurse/GP
• We would ask that you present to the Nurse/GP with your arm already exposed and ready to have the vaccination.
• We are running a vaccination clinic only so no other discussions can take place with the GP/Nurse.
We’d like to thank you for your co-operation and understanding of the above guidance in the effort to keep everyone safe in difficult times.

We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically. We would encourage all of our patients to have a nominated Pharmacy added to your medical records. This will ensure that the prescription is sent electronically to the correct Pharmacy for your to collect of your medication. If you do not have a nominated Pharmacy, you will be given a token instead of a prescription. The token can be taken to any Pharmacy, who will then scan this and be able to issue you with the correct medication.
Electronic prescriptions help save the NHS money.
Read more about EPS on the NHS website.
GP practices across Wakefield are now offering weekend and evening appointments.
The new GP Care Wakefield scheme enables patients across the district to have access to GP support after normal opening hours.
This enables patients to have access to medical advice and, if required, access to a Wakefield GP appointment, through their normal GP practice telephone number between:
18:00 and 22:00hrs Monday to Friday
and from 09.00: to 15.00hrs Saturday and Bank Holidays
Patients who use the service will be provided with medical advice from a dedicated nursing team, who can then refer them to a GP appointment that day, if required, at one of two sites across the district.

Each individual works in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Caldicott guidelines and have signed a confidentiality agreement.
